The adventure
begins:
One of the great pleasures of my
work is the process of meeting new clients, being
invited into their homes and listening very carefully
to what kind of piece of furniture it is that
they would like. I am very conscious that commissioning
a new piece of furniture is an adventure and I
do my very best to make this adventure an enjoyable
experience for all of us. |

The Drawings
I'll go away and reflect back to
you what you have told me and give you my initial
reactions and some initial guides on costs. If
that's suitable we'll process a step further.
I'll then make some drawings. Usually two alternative
designs. I may then visit you again or send the
drawings either digitally or in the mail. At this
stage one of the drawings may need to be amended
or I may need to develop a third design based
upon your reaction. All the time I am attempting
to give you as clear a view of what this finished
piece of furniture will look like and what the
piece of furniture is likely to cost you.

The Comission:
Once we have arrived at the design
I can give you an exact cost of the work involved
and an idea of when the piece will be ready for
delivery. Don't expect furniture to be made quickly
for you. Quite often we have a waiting list of
between 6 and 12 months.
I am happy to work with clients throughout the
world though it is obviously less expensive for
me to travel to Europe than it is to the United
States or Japan. The cost of my initial visit
will be billed to you on my return.
