"black Carver"

"An Occasional Table in Burr Oak"

Made from Burr Oak from a tree blown down is the gales of 1986. My client wanted a table they could put their feet when watching T V but it had to be woody and eliptical in shape We searched for nearly two years to find the timber . Burrs are defects that grow usually on the outside of an old tree and in time can be up to three feet across. We got these from a friend that heard of my plight " There is a stack of timber in the grounds here that was put together after the gales of 1986 I am sure there was some burr in that stack." And so there was, several pieces were fitted together around a glass elipse to create this unique piece.

"Fenella and John"
These are a pair of fireside chairs made in Carpathian Elm. Made for a loving couple these are his and hers. Fenella is wrapped around and comfortable with wings that keep out the draught and enclose one. Fenella also has one true twirl a decorative embellishment, a conspicuous display of Whimsy. John is a mans chair no ponsey upholstery on John just bare wood and little else. John would not even allow us to polish his chair. He insisted that a thin layer of wax and the effects of time would be sufficient to patinate his chair and he is quite right that is all it needs.

"Pretty Lady"

This is a small card table or occasional table in Swiss Pearwood that I have made for fun. The drop leaf of the table is shaped like the swinging hem of a pretty womans skirt there is even the hint of a Sycamore pettycoat. What fun. We have one Pretty Lady in stock in Pearwood with Sycamore details as show for £2,900

"Sunflower Chairs 2006"

A set of special chairs made to accompany a Macassar Ebony Dining table. The chairs are upholstered in Pale Yellow Leather on an Ebonised Maple frame with crest rails fitted with Ebony strips

"Occasional Table in Macassar Ebony."

A low solid ebony table that required considerable skill and patience to deliver. Not the easiest table to make in this timber and one we would certainly not do a again.

"Sunflower Dining Table and Chairs 2006"

The Table is in Macassar ebony with silver detailing polished to a high shine. The chairs are pale yellow leather on an ebonised Maple frame. This is a unique design that cannot be replicated or copied all our clients have the benefit of knowing that when we make furniture for them that it will never be copied and made again for someone else.
