Woodworking Short Courses

Have you ever considered taking a furniture making course? If you have ever had the urge to get up close and personal with a beautiful piece of wood, then Rowden is the place for you. Whatever your interest or ability level, we run a series of woodworking short courses, from short taster weekend courses to weekly, three, six and twelve month courses, all of which are incredibly popular.

Woodworking Short Courses

Would you like to make a beautiful box as a special gift for a loved one? Perhaps could see yourself rising to the challenge of a chair making course. Or maybe you’d prefer to spend more time with us and submerse yourself in the Rowden culture with a longer stay.

The three month intensive workshop training course will teach you all about how to use hand tools and marking out tools, via a series of set projects. Stay for six months and you will also make your own workbench. This will be a bespoke bench made to your own individual specifications by you, for you.

Running alongside the practical skills of our longer courses is the Biz Course.  Run by Jonathan Walter of Bark Furniture, and unique to Rowden, this is a great way to learn about the business side of things. A former Rowden student himself, Jonathan has been in your shoes. He knows what it is like to be starting out and is on hand to answer all your questions.

All of our courses take place on site here at Rowden, deep in the Devon countryside. You may choose to live on site, or stay locally. Some students even camp here in the Summer months. Whatever your preference, we are more than happy to offer advice and help point you in the right direction.

So go on, get in touch and see how we can help you…

Until next time,

Lakshmi
