Applying transparent shellac polish you can see how it brings out the color of the timbers in this bit of marquetary. It is a similar process to French polishing but using clear rather than brown polish. In this case we are using a polishing mop or brush but later if a high shine is needed a polishers pad would be used. Marquetary is where different woods are inlaid into one another often to create an image or picture.
