The old man himself fiddling about with a marquetary panel for a box that took forever to finish. Here the marquetary is being sawn out from a pad made up of several veneers that formed the colors of the panel. The marquetary pad is cut with a fine fretsaw as seen here so that both pieces the male and the female fit together.
